A lifelong fan of western novels, movies, and anything of a western history nature, I am delighted that New York publisher, Avalon Books, has just published my fifth novel, Ambush Creek , the fourth in the Piedmont Kelly series. U.S. Marshal Piedmont Kelly is out to track down a gang of suspected killers hiding under the guise of Bounty Hunters. He enlists the aid of Spotted Dog, the Chiricahua Apache whose life he saved less than a year earlier, as a tracker. With the Apache's superior tracking abilities, they follow a nearly undescernable trail to Desert Belle, and meet, once again, those two fumbling, bumbling boys, Pooder and Blue. Of course, since the boys are prone to trouble, they again put themselves and everyone else's lives in jeopardy.

Latest Publishing News

I have just signed a contract for a two-book series with a huge New York publisher, and will see the first of the mass-market paperbacks on bookshelves in June 2011. The first of the series is called "Cotton's War." A whole new cast of caharcters, both good, not-so-good, and just plain evil will confront my hero, Sheriff Cotton Burke. More information will be forthcoming.
